Frequently asked questions
Membership & billing
What's the difference between TOGGL3 Membership and a channel subscription?
TOGGL3 Membership is a platform-wide subscription — it's what unlocks participation across the whole site: chat, reactions, polls and predictions, joining guilds, registering for tournaments, and broadcasting your own channel. A channel subscription supports one specific creator and unlocks that creator's own perks, plus chat and other participation in that one channel. They're separate products, with a 0% TOGGL3 platform cut on Channel Subscriptions*. You don't need a Membership to subscribe to a channel — when you subscribe you can choose to subscribe to the channel on its own (a small non-member service fee applies), add TOGGL3 Membership at the same time and the fee is waived, or join TOGGL3 on its own. You don't need a Membership to gift channel subscriptions or to tip a creator either — anyone can do both, with or without an account, subject to the abuse controls and purchase limits we apply.
How do I cancel my Membership or update my payment method?
Go to Settings → Membership and choose "Manage billing" (or "Fix payment method" if there's a payment issue). That opens Stripe's secure billing portal, where you can update your card or cancel — no phone call needed. Cancelling stops future renewals; your Membership stays available through the end of the period you already paid for.
I was refunded — does that mean I'm no longer subscribed?
Not by itself. A refund is a billing correction, not a cancellation, so a refunded charge on its own doesn't end your access — your Membership keeps renewing normally unless you cancel it separately from the billing portal. If that doesn't match what you're seeing, open a Billing ticket below and we'll check your account's actual subscription record rather than a receipt or screen that might be stale.
I subscribed through the App Store or Play Store — where do I manage it?
Subscriptions purchased through an app store are billed and cancelled through that store's own subscription management, not through TOGGL3 directly.
Playback problems
A stream won't load or keeps buffering — what do I do?
Refresh the page first — that clears most one-off playback issues. If it keeps happening, try a different browser, device, or network. We don't publish technical details about how a given stream reaches your device, but every account tier can watch public streams.
A channel says "offline" or a video says "This stream has ended" — is that a bug?
No, that's accurate status. A stream leaves the live page as soon as the broadcaster stops, and a recording shows "This stream has ended" once the broadcast is over rather than pretending it's still live. If a stream you know is actually live is showing as offline, refresh first; if it keeps happening, open a ticket below.
Do I need an account to watch?
No. Public streams are watchable without signing in. An account is only needed for interactive things like chat, follows, and joining guilds, and a Membership is only needed for full participation — never for simply watching a public stream.
Account access
I forgot my password or can't sign in.
Password, passkey, and two-factor management happen on TOGGL3 ID, our identity service, not on toggl3.tv directly. From Settings → Sign-in & security you can jump into TOGGL3 ID to reset your password, add a passkey, set up an authenticator app, or generate recovery codes. If you're completely locked out and can't reach that page at all, open an Account ticket below.
How do I add two-factor authentication?
Go to Settings → Sign-in & security and choose passkey, authenticator app, or recovery codes. Each one is a short round trip through TOGGL3 ID that returns you to that page when you're done.
My account was banned, timed out, or suspended — why?
You'll be told the specific reason for that action — it's never disguised as a billing or subscription message. Check Settings → Account Standing for your enforcement history; where an action is eligible for appeal, you can submit one from there.
Creator payouts
How do creator payouts actually work?
Payouts run through our payment provider (Stripe), which handles identity verification, tax information, and your bank details directly under its own privacy policy — TOGGL3 never sees your bank account number. Turning on monetization requires completing that provider's onboarding first.
What's TOGGL3's cut of channel-subscription revenue?
0% TOGGL3 platform cut on Channel Subscriptions* — no part of the creator's displayed subscription price goes to TOGGL3. The small service fee a non-member pays is added on top of the creator's price, never taken out of it. Things like refunds, chargebacks, or currency conversion can still affect what you ultimately receive.
When do I get paid, and is there a minimum payout amount?
Your specific payout schedule, any minimum threshold, and your current onboarding/payout status are shown in Creator Studio once monetization is enabled — they can vary by account, so we don't restate fixed numbers here. If a payout looks missing or wrong, open a Payout ticket with the approximate date and amount and we'll check your account's actual payout records.
Reporting content & safety
How do I report a stream, chat message, or user?
Use the report control wherever you see the content — on a stream, a chat message, or a profile. Reporting never requires an account or a Membership; anonymous viewers can report too. Repeated anonymous reports from the same source are rate-limited to prevent abuse, not to block genuine reports.
How do I block or mute someone?
Blocking requires a free account, since it's saved to your account, but it never requires a Membership.
Someone shared an intimate image of me without my consent.
Use our dedicated removal process at /safety/intimate-image-removal. It doesn't require a TOGGL3 account and is separate from a general content report.
Someone is using my copyrighted content without permission.
File a notice through our Copyright Policy at /copyright, also open to anyone, account or not.
What happens after I file a report?
Every report is reviewed, though filing one doesn't guarantee a specific outcome. See our Community Guidelines for the full enforcement ladder, from a warning up to a permanent ban.
Guilds & tournaments
Can I browse guilds and tournaments without a Membership?
Yes. Browsing guilds, viewing a guild's public profile, and viewing tournament listings, brackets, and standings are all open to everyone, including anonymous visitors — discovery is free.
Why can't I join a guild or register for a tournament?
Joining or creating a guild and registering for or organizing a tournament all require an active TOGGL3 Membership, since those are participation features rather than viewing. Following a guild or a tournament, so you get notified, is free with an account and doesn't need a Membership.
Do I need to do anything special to leave a guild?
No — leaving a guild is always unrestricted, the same as unfollowing.
